The official X/Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of Garena Free Fire — the popular battle royale shooter from Singaporean developer and publisher Garena — announced on Saturday that the series will be titled Free Fire Daybreak. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new promotional visual.
Release Window and Production
Free Fire Daybreak is scheduled to debut in spring 2027, with plans for simultaneous broadcast and streaming worldwide. The anime is a co-production between Kadokawa and Garena, with Kadokawa’s subsidiary Kadokawa Qingyu serving as production manager.

Garena Free Fire is a third-person shooter in the battle royale genre. Players are dropped onto a large island with dozens of others, collecting weapons and supplies while working to be the last person standing — whether by actively hunting opponents or lying low as others are eliminated.
The game originally launched in December 2017. According to Sensor Tower’s data.ai platform, Free Fire ranked as the world’s most downloaded mobile game from 2019 to 2021, and the most downloaded mobile battle royale game in both 2022 and 2023. As of February 2024, the game boasts 100 million daily active users.
