The official website for the TV anime The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects (Ryomin Zero-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushu-sama), based on the light novel by Fuurou, revealed several new details at once, including the second promotional video, the official broadcast date, additional cast members, and the opening and ending theme artists.
Theme Songs
The Japanese-Korean pop-rock band CROWN HEAD will perform the opening theme “Wonder”. The ending theme, “Hoshi Furu Yoru no Yakusoku” (A Promise on a Starry Night), will be performed by Kaya. The latest promotional video gives fans a preview of the opening theme.

The anime is directed by Kenichi Imaizumi, known for his work on Kingdom seasons 3-6, with studio42 handling animation production. Kunihiko Okada, who worked on The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy, From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, and Apocalypse Bringer Mynoghra, is overseeing the series scripts. Keiichi Tsuboyama, animation director on Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom?, is designing the characters.
Broadcast Schedule
The anime will premiere on July 10 at 22:30 on Tokyo MX. It will then air on MBS on July 11, BS Asahi on July 12, and AT-X on July 14.
About the Story
The series is a “slow-life fantasy” about Dias, a veteran soldier who returns home after decades of war. As a reward, he receives a territory of his own, only to discover that it contains nothing but open grassland and has a population of zero. Having known only battle all his life, Dias has no idea how to begin developing the land until he meets Alna, a horned girl who helps him discover that the grasslands hold more possibilities than they first appear to.
The original light novel began serialization on Shosetsuka ni Naro on January 20, 2018, by Fuurou, before being published in print by Earth Star Novel with illustrations by Kinta. The manga adaptation is drawn by Yumbo and currently has 14 volumes. The franchise has surpassed 2 million copies in circulation.
