The TV anime 「ふつつかな悪女でございますが ～雛宮蝶鼠とりかえ伝～」 (Futsutsuka na Akujo de wa Gozaimasuga ~Hinagiya Chōso Torikae-den~) has announced its official premiere date as July 12, 2026 at 23:45 JST on TV Tokyo and affiliated stations, including TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, TV Hokkaido, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting — as part of the 2026 summer anime season lineup.
Alongside this announcement, a new key visual drawn by series character designer Kikuchi Ai has been unveiled. The visual brings together the story’s key characters in a single image: Reirin, Keietsu, Gyoumei, Shinuu, Riri, Seika, Hoshun, and Kabuki, accompanied by the caption: 「ほうき星が輝く夜に、二人の運命は入れ替わった——」 (On a night when a comet shone bright, the fates of two were exchanged——)
Story Synopsis
The story follows Reirin, a clever and beautiful young woman who is body-swapped by Keietsu, a woman branded “the villainess of the court.” Nevertheless, with a fierce and resolute spirit, Reirin overcomes one hurdle after another inside Keietsu’s body, and gradually begins to change Keietsu’s heart.
This work is adapted from the original light novel by Nakamura Satsuki, published by Ichijinsha, with a manga adaptation by Obiyou Ei currently serialized in Monthly Comic ZERO-SUM (Ichijinsha).
