The official website for The Ghost in the Shell (Kōkaku Kidōtai THE GHOST IN THE SHELL) television anime from Science SARU announced on Wednesday that Atsushi Miyauchi has been cast as Borma in the series.
The site also unveiled the end card for the second episode, illustrated by Ilya Kuvshinov, the character designer of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045.
Streaming and Broadcast
The anime began streaming on Amazon Prime Video Japan on July 7 at 11:30 p.m. JST, immediately following its television broadcast. It is also streaming exclusively and simultaneously on Prime Video in over 240 countries and regions worldwide, with the exception of mainland China, Russia, and Vietnam.
The first two episodes were screened at Anime Expo on July 4, followed by a panel featuring director Mokochan, character designer and chief animation director Shūhei Handa, and other producers.

Staff
Mokochan — known as a storyboarder and key animator on DAN DA DAN, The Heike Story, and Tatami Time Machine Blues — makes his directorial debut with this project at Science SARU. Toh Enjoe, novelist of The Empire of Corpses and scriptwriter on Space Dandy and Godzilla Singular Point, is both writing and supervising the series scripts. Shūhei Handa, whose credits include Little Witch Academia, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and Spriggan (ONA), serves as character designer and chief animation director.
Music director Taisei Iwasaki (BELLE) is composing the score alongside Ryō Konishi and Yuki Kanesaka (Dr. Stone).

Production
The production committee consists of Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, Science SARU, and Production I.G. The series was first announced by Bandai Namco Filmworks in May 2024. Veteran voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, who voiced Motoko Kusanagi throughout the franchise, passed away in August 2024 at the age of 61.
