Bandai Namco Filmworks released the second full trailer and second key visual for the fifth installment of the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale film series on Sunday. The key visual carries the tagline: “One more victory to go….”
Both the trailer and the visual spotlight Miho Nishizumi of Ōarai Girls’ High School and her former student council teammates as they prepare to face off against St. Gloriana Girls’ College — including the character Alice — in what is the third-year students’ final competition.
Release Date and Screening Formats
Girls und Panzer das Finale Film 5 opens in Japan on October 9. The film will be screened in Dolby Cinema, Dolby Atmos, 4DX, and MX4D formats alongside standard screenings. This marks the first time the film series will be presented in Dolby Cinema.

- Film 1 opened in December 2017 across 59 theaters in Japan, introducing new characters from BC Freedom High School in a winter battle.
- Film 2 opened in June 2019, concluding the Ooarai vs. BC Freedom battle and also featuring matches involving Kuromorimine Girls Academy, Pravda Girls High School, and other schools.
- Film 3 opened in March 2021, with six additional schools competing across three new battlegrounds.
- Film 4 opened in October 2023, continuing Ooarai’s fight against Continuation (Jaktkosota) High School following key losses in Film 3, and also depicting a clash between Kuromorimine — now led by Maho’s successor Erika — and St. Gloriana, with commander Darjeeling competing in her final match.
Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu!
The four Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! films opened on December 26, January 30, March 6, and April 10, respectively. The series is based on a manga by Maruko Nii — serialized since 2013 in Kadokawa’s (formerly Media Factory’s) Monthly Comic Alive — that explores the lesser-known daily lives of the Ooarai Girls Team and fellow students. The fourth film in this series also included a pilot video based on the Girls und Panzer: Ribon no Musha manga by Takeshi Nogami and Takaaki Suzuki.
About the Franchise
The original Girls und Panzer television anime premiered in October 2012 and ran for 12 episodes. The theatrical follow-up, Girls und Panzer der Film, opened in Japan in November 2015.
