About Golden Kamuy
Golden Kamuy is a TV anime based on the hit manga by Noda Satoru, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump. The story follows Sugimoto Saichi — a Russo-Japanese War veteran known as “Immortal Sugimoto” — and his Ainu partner Asirpa, as they fight for a cache of stolen Ainu gold in a brutal survival race across Hokkaido. The manga won the Manga Taisho 2016 top prize and the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and has sold over 30 million copies across its 31 collected volumes.
The fourth and final anime season, produced by Brains Base and chief-directed by Sugahara Shizutaka, aired from January to March 2026. A new arc — the “Bousouressha-hen” (Runaway Train Arc) — has been announced for this winter, with further details still awaited.
