Anime fans and denim enthusiasts have something to look forward to: Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack (機動戦士ガンダム 逆襲のシャア) is getting a special collaboration collection with iconic denim brand Lee, featuring seven items across three categories — denim jackets, FLeeasy easy pants, and T-shirts.
About the Gundam Series and Char’s Counterattack
The Gundam franchise has been running for over 45 years since the original Mobile Suit Gundam aired in 1979, spanning TV series, theatrical films, and OVAs. Known for its layered portrayal of war, politics, and human drama through Mobile Suit combat, the series has also expanded into manga, novels, games, and model kits, earning a fanbase that crosses generations and genres.
The 1988 theatrical film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack is set in Universal Century 0093 — 14 years after the original TV series — and brings the long-running rivalry between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable to its definitive conclusion.
The Lee × Char’s Counterattack Collection
The collaboration items will be sold through Gundam apparel shop STRICT-G, with general sales beginning October 10, 2026. Pre-orders are already open via Premium Bandai from October 2 at 1:00 PM JST.
Denim Jackets — ¥25,300 each
Based on the classic DUNGAREES 91-B silhouette from the 1950s, these ZIP jackets use Lee’s original 10.5 oz Gelt Denim — durable yet lightweight. Two versions are available:
- RX-93 νGundam — indigo base with νGundam motif
- MSN-04 Sazabi — black base with Sazabi motif
FLeeasy Easy Pants — ¥18,150 each
The name FLeeasy combines Lee, Free, and Easy. These easy pants feature an inner belt adjuster for a wide size range from XS to XXL equivalent. Made from a stretch version of Lee’s signature Gelt Denim for a modern workwear feel, they come in indigo and black.
T-Shirts — ¥7,700 each
Three designs rework the classic Lee logo with Gundam themes:
- Lee Logo MS — the Lee logo flanked by two opposing Mobile Suits
- Axis Logo — Lee lettering combined with the Axis imagery
- Denim Pocket Re-GZ — Lee’s classic denim pocket tee reimagined with a Re-GZ design
