The third annual collaboration between Sendai confectionery brand Kashosanzen — maker of the beloved local sweet “Hagi no Tsuki” — and the anime Haikyuu!! is here, and this year it comes with a brand-new twist. Aone Takanobu and Futakuchi Kenji of Date Tech High School have been appointed as official “Sendai Tourism Ambassadors,” and to mark the occasion, the duo is starring in a special collaboration with the Sendai confection “Date Emaki” — a layered baumkuchen filled with ogura bean paste and cream, inspired by the legacy of the Date 620,000-koku domain.
Newly Drawn Visuals: Date Tech’s Iron Wall in Traditional Attire
The Date Emaki special package features original artwork drawn exclusively for this collaboration, depicting Aone and Futakuchi dressed in traditional Japanese clothing (wafuku) and riding horses — a design that evokes the pair’s legendary “Iron Wall” blocking prowess. The package contains 8 pieces and is priced at ¥1,550 (tax included).
Hagi no Tsuki x Tsukishima Returns
The fan-favourite annual pairing of Tsukishima Kei with Hagi no Tsuki — a play on the shared “moon” (tsuki) motif — is back for 2026 with yet another newly drawn illustration. This package contains 5 pieces, priced at ¥1,690.
Oikawa Tooru’s Zunda Mochi & Zunda Shake
Following last year’s popular run, the special Sendai Zunda Mochi package featuring newly drawn artwork of Oikawa Tooru makes its return. The sweet — soft mochi wrapped around zunda (edamame) bean paste, sized for easy eating and shelf-stable at room temperature — comes in an 8-piece package at ¥1,550.
The collaboration also extends to the Zunda Charyō café chain, where the Zunda Shake (tall size) — a vanilla shake blended with the shop’s signature zunda — will come with an Oikawa straw tag featuring new artwork. Priced at ¥630 (take-out) / ¥642 (eat-in), it is available exclusively at the Zunda Komichi and Shake Express branches.
Limited Shopping Bag — Exclusive to the Event Venue
A limited shopping bag (¥100) featuring newly drawn visuals of both Tsukishima Kei and Oikawa Tooru will be sold only at the special event booth on the 3rd floor of JR Sendai Station (in front of the Midori no Madoguchi ticket office).

About Haikyuu!!
Haikyuu!! is a manga by Haruichi Furudate, serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, following high school boys who pour their youth into volleyball. The TV anime began airing in 2014, and the theatrical film Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle was released on February 16, 2024. Two further projects are scheduled for 2027: the film Haikyuu!! VS The Little Giant, depicting the Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa match, and the special anime Haikyuu!! Baketachi no Yukutokoro, covering the Fukurōdani vs. Nohebi battle.
