Hana-Kimi Synopsis

The story follows Mizuki, a Japanese-American female track and field fan who decides to transfer to a high school in Japan in order to be close to Sano Izumi, the high jumper of her dreams — but the school is an all-boys institution. She must therefore disguise herself as a boy, and as fate would have it, the two end up as roommates. Mizuki must keep her secret hidden at all times — in the classroom, the locker room, and even the dormitory — while her classmates and the school infirmary deal with the new transfer student.

The anime’s Season 1 had its world premiere at Anime NYC on August 23, 2025, before its official broadcast on Tokyo MX on January 4, 2026, and subsequently aired on BS11, MBS, CBC TV, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and other channels. Internationally, Crunchyroll provided same-day simulcast streaming with English subtitles and English dub, covering North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
