Voice actor Hayama Shota has announced a major career move, revealing via his personal X (formerly Twitter) account on September 1, 2026, that he departed his longtime agency Axel One — where he had spent approximately nine years — effective August 31, 2026.
Hayama is well known to anime fans for voicing Barai Kugyatsu in Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima +, Yamagishi Kazushi in Tokyo Revengers, and Akane Sentaro in Uruwashi no Yoi no Tsuki.
After the initial announcement the previous day, Hayama followed up with a post on September 1 stating: “I apologize for the sudden news yesterday. Starting today, September 1st, I will be in the care of my new agency. I will continue to press forward with the same dedication — I hope for your continued support.”
His new home is HIYUSE (灯唯世), an agency operated by fellow voice actor Kurodа Takaya.
Kurodа himself welcomed the news with a post reading: “Please work in an environment where you can relax and focus, and show off your talent to the fullest, Shota. Let’s do our best together — welcome aboard.”
Fans flooded social media with congratulatory messages, including reactions such as “It’s Kuroda-san’s place! Can’t wait to see what you do there!”, “Congratulations on your new agency!”, “The new profile photo is absolutely amazing!!”, and “I literally cried out loud when I saw it was the same agency as Kuroda-san!!” Many also expressed excitement for his future work, with comments like “Wishing you a wonderful new start!” and “Looking forward to everything you’ll achieve from here.”
