To mark the 10th anniversary of the TV anime 『僕のヒーローアカデミア』 (Boku no Hero Academia) — known to Thai fans as Hero Academia — the project 「Boku no Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary」 has revealed full details for rounds 2 and 3 of the special screening event “Character Matchup 名エピソード上映,” along with an announcement of a new short anime that fans have been eagerly awaiting.

About Boku no Hero Academia

The original manga is an action series by Horikoshi Kohei, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from Shueisha, with a cumulative global print run surpassing 100 million copies. Set in a world where more than 80% of the population possesses special abilities called “Quirks (個性),” it follows the growth, battles, and friendships of Midoriya Izuku “Deku,” a middle school student who dreams of becoming a hero, along with his classmates at Yuei High School.

The TV anime aired from 2016 and concluded in December 2025 with its FINAL SEASON, spanning 8 seasons and 170 episodes. On May 2, 2025, a special episode No.170+1「More」 was also broadcast, adapted from a brand-new story drawn for the final volume of the manga, Volume 42.

What Is the “Character Matchup” Special Screening Event?

The “Character Matchup 名エピソード上映” is a special project that selects key episodes from the TV anime and screens them in cinemas across Japan — Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya — focusing on the relationships between pairs of characters. Round 1 already took place on May 16, themed 「Uraraka Ochako × Toga Himiko」, screening 5 episodes that depicted the complex bond between hero and villain.

New Short Anime “I am a hero too”

Another major highlight is the announcement of a new short anime titled 「I am a hero too」, adapted from the special fan book 「Boku no Hero Academia Ultra Age」. The story centers on Eri, the young girl whose life was saved by Midoriya Izuku.

“I am a hero too” will make its world premiere at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles in July, after which it will begin streaming on various online platforms starting August 3 — the day after Round 3 screens.
