AMC Global Media announced on Monday that it is extending and expanding the distribution agreement between its subsidiary Sentai Filmworks and Japan’s Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) through a new multi-year deal.

Under the agreement, the HIDIVE streaming service will exclusively simulcast MBS’ upcoming multi-year anime lineup in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and other markets outside Asia. Additional simulcast titles for HIDIVE’s fall 2026 slate will be announced at a later date.

AMC first struck a distribution deal with MBS in March 2023, granting HIDIVE exclusive streaming rights to MBS programming in all global markets outside Asia. AMC Networks had previously acquired Sentai Holdings, LLC — the parent company of Sentai Filmworks and HIDIVE — in January 2022.

Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden Leads the Expanded Deal

The anime will make its North American premiere at Anime NYC on August 26, ahead of its Japanese television debut on October 6 on Tokyo MX at 9:25 p.m. JST, followed by broadcasts on BS NTV and MBS.

An advance screening of the first three episodes is scheduled for September 22 at esports TOKYO BAY studio.

About the Source Material

Minamino originally serialized the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from 2019 to 2021. Hobby Japan began publishing the light novel series with illustrations by Jishaku in September 2022, with Katana Canata taking over illustration duties from the third volume in 2023. The anime credits both illustrators for the original character designs. The 11th volume was published on June 1.

A manga adaptation drawn by Kabuto Kodai launched on Square Enix’s Manga UP! service in 2022. Square Enix released the first compiled volume in May 2023 and the eighth volume on February 6. English readers can follow the manga through Manga UP! Global.
