The anime 北斗の拳 -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR- (Fist of the North Star), based on the original work by Buronson and Hara Tetsuo, has announced two additional voice cast members: Naru Toru as Fox and Dozaka Koso as Hawk.

About the New Characters

Fox is the right-hand man of the villain Jackal, while Hawk is Jackal’s younger brother. Both characters will debut in Episode 9, titled 「狂犬どもは死すべし」 (Mad Dogs Must Die).

Episode 9: Threat to the Village of Tōyo

In this episode, while Kenshiro is away, Jackal and his gang seize the opportunity to launch a raid on the village of Tōyo. Tōyo, the elderly woman who has been caring for orphaned children and showering them with love, along with all the children, find themselves in grave danger. A preview image from the episode has already been released.

Naru Toru (as Fox)

“This is 北斗の拳! I’ve been reading it since the very first issue, following it every week, and re-reading the collected volumes countless times. As a fan, I’m genuinely grateful to be part of the 北斗の拳 anime in this era — even if it didn’t need to be said out loud, I truly am. Yeehaw!!”

Naru also revealed that his favorite line is 「てめえらの血は何色だーーーっ!!」, and that his favorite characters include Jagi, Shu, Hiwou, Shuren, Rey, and even Mamiya. He added that Kokuou got him into reading 北斗の拳 from elementary school — he initially found it “a little scary,” but the more he read, the more hooked he became.

Dozaka Koso (as Hawk)

“北斗の拳 is a work I loved before I even decided to pursue a career as a voice actor, and ever since starting this career I’ve dreamed of being part of it. I’m overjoyed to have made my on-air debut — even if just for one episode — and to have been given the character name ‘Hawk’ as well. If Hawk survives Kenshiro’s attack and doesn’t become a hardened enemy, I still hope everyone will watch his final scene.”

Dozaka revealed that his favorite line as a teenager was 「我が生涯に、一片の悔い無し！」 from Raoh, which gave him strength during moments when he felt cornered in his path as a voice actor. For this episode, he also loves Toki’s line 「フ…だがまだ生きている」. He began reading this manga in middle school, borrowing collected volumes from a friend and reading to the very end.
