Warner Bros. Japan announced on Friday that the second cours of the new Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star- anime — based on Tetsuo Hara‘s landmark manga — will begin in 2027. The company also streamed a preview video for episode 15, which will open the second cours. The first part wrapped up with its 14th episode on the same day.

Background

The new anime was announced to mark the franchise’s 40th anniversary, with the staff pledging a CG-based production that stays truer to the source manga. The original manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988, and the classic TV anime aired for two seasons between 1984 and 1988 across 152 episodes.

Meanwhile, the short anime adaptation of Hiroshi Kurao‘s spinoff manga Elegy for the Henchmen: Fist of the North Star launched its first part on AT-X and Tokyo MX on January 5; its second part is scheduled to premiere on July 6.
