The official website for the TV anime Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko, a sequel to Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei based on Tetsuhiro Koshita‘s manga, revealed the main trailer, announced additional cast and staff, and confirmed the official premiere date of July 6.
Theme Songs
The trailer features the opening theme “Kaishin no Ichigeki” (A Masterful Play) performed by the popular girl group Momoiro Clover Z. The ending theme, “Welcome to Azatosa World”, remains by the voice-actor idol unit i☆Ris, as previously announced.

In a special return, Noriko Hidaka, who voiced Danpei Ichigeki in the original Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei anime, will reprise the role in flashback scenes and also narrate the sequel series.

The anime is produced by studio CUE and directed by Hiroshi Ikehata, known for Dark Gathering, Kiratto Pri☆Chan, and TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You. Kazuho Hyōdō is handling the scripts, while Narihito Sekikawa is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.

Broadcast Schedule and Advance Screening
The anime will premiere on July 6 on Tokyo MX and BS11 at 11:00 p.m. JST, followed by MBS on July 7. A special advance screening of the first two episodes will also be held on June 21 at Shinjuku Wald 9.
About the Original Work
Koshita’s original Honō no Tōkyūji Dodge Danpei manga ran in Shogakukan’s Monthly CoroCoro Comic from 1989 to 1995 and was collected in 18 volumes. It was adapted into a 47-episode TV anime by Animation 21 that aired from 1991 to 1992.
The sequel, Honō no Tōkyūjo: Dodge Danko, began serialization on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website in November 2022. Shogakukan has released six compiled volumes, with the latest volume released in August 2025.
