About the Story
Horror Collector is based on a novel series written by Sato, supervised by Norio Tsuruta, with art by Yon. Kadokawa has been publishing the novels since June 2015, with the 29th volume released on October 7. A manga adaptation by Niko Yuki ran in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene magazine from 2021 to 2022 and was collected into a single compiled volume in March 2022.
Yen Press publishes both the novel series and the manga adaptation in English under its “JY for Kids” middle-grade imprint. The sixth novel volume and the manga volume were both released in May 2025.
The internet is full of creepypastas, cryptid sightings, tales of paranormal activity, and unsolved disappearances. These are mostly rumors and pranks fueled by trolls—entertainment. But the unlucky few learn the hard way that some legends are true. Many of these unfortunate souls are doomed, but their luck may change if they cross paths with the boy in the red hood. He roams from town to town and appears wherever strange things occur. Is he a light in the dark? Or living proof that monsters are all too real…?
