โปสเตอร์นิทรรศการ Hosoda Mamoru no Genten/Ten ปี 2026 ที่ CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO

The exhibition 「細田守の原点/展」(Hosoda Mamoru no Genten/Ten), marking the most ambitious career retrospective of renowned anime director Hosoda Mamoru, is set to open its doors to fans from June 20 through August 31, 2026 at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in Kyobashi, Tokyo. The organizers have now revealed exhibition highlights along with a first look at exclusive merchandise.

The Origins of a Legend — Tracing Three Beloved Works

The exhibition places special emphasis on three works beloved by anime fans worldwide: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女), Summer Wars (サマーウォーズ), and Wolf Children (おおかみこどもの雨と雪). It brings together production materials including storyboards, layouts, original animation drawings (原画), and art boards — over 300 pieces in total — in the largest display scale the exhibition has ever seen.

Beyond those three central works, the exhibition also presents pieces from the era when Hosoda was still an in-house director (演出家) before The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, including independent animation he created on 8mm film from his school days, original drawings from his time at Kanazawa College of Art, and his oil paintings — offering a complete view of the creative origins of Hosoda’s imagination, tracing the thread all the way through to his most recent work, Hateshinaki Scarlet (果てしなきスカーレット).

Special Zone — Step Into the Virtual World “OZ” from Summer Wars

One of the most exciting highlights of the exhibition is a specially designed immersive display area where visitors can experience the virtual world “OZ” from Summer Wars as if it were real. Using the full height of the venue — up to 5 meters — an awe-inspiring atmosphere is created, with life-size figures of King Kazma and Love Machine, two iconic characters from the film, also making an appearance.

Over 100 Exclusive Exhibition Goods

For collectors, the exhibition has prepared over 100 exclusive items, all centered on the theme of “blue sky” (青空) — a symbol woven throughout Hosoda’s works — from merchandise featuring that iconic motif to beautifully designed goods inspired by memorable scenes from each film. All items are designed to let fans carry a piece of the experience home. Some items have already been revealed; the full catalog of goods will be announced on the official exhibition website.
