The anime film Hyaku Emu. (「ひゃくえむ。」), based on the manga by Uoto, will return to cinemas for a limited one-week revival run beginning September 18, 2026, to mark the film’s first anniversary. Six theaters across Japan will participate in the event.
About Hyaku Emu.
The film centers on Togashi, a boy born with a natural gift for speed, and Komiya, a hard-working peer who becomes obsessed with the 100-meter dash after crossing paths with him. Together, their story explores the glory and heartbreak experienced by those captivated by the sprint. The theatrical anime, which opened on September 19, 2025, was directed by Kenji Iwaisawa, with Tori Matsuzaka voicing Togashi and Shota Sometani voicing Komiya. The film won the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Animation and earned over 800 million yen at the box office.

Two special Teach-In screenings will be held at kino cinéma Shinjuku in Tokyo, featuring all eight rotoscope actors from the film.
