The TV anime staff for 「岩元先輩ノ推薦」 (Iwamoto Senpai no Suisen), adapted from the manga by Chioibashi Hiroshi, has revealed additional cast members and the official theme songs for the series.
Story and Key Visual
This anime is set in the aftermath of the year 1910 and follows the story of Iwamoto Kodo, a middle school student working as an administrator for an organization that investigates and researches supernatural phenomena — phenomena that can also be weaponized. Set against a romantic and deeply atmospheric Meiji-Taisho era backdrop, the anime is scheduled to premiere on TOKYO MX and Sun TV on July 4, 2026.
Additional Cast
- Sasame Ruu — A second-year student at Seho Academy who is always lost in a daydream whether in the classroom or outdoors, since wherever she is rain always seems to fall. She has a gentle, quiet personality, sensitive to the atmosphere and easily moved; voiced by Sato Hajime.
- Awatame Mizuki — A first-year student at Seho Academy who is an absolute devotee of dolls from the bottom of her heart, with four favorite dolls named Ichimi, Futaba, Mio, and Shiki. She has an endearing, cool, and very much her-own-self personality; voiced by Tokudome Shinosuke.
Theme Songs
- Opening Theme (OP): “BUDDING” by THE JET BOY BANGERZ
- Ending Theme (ED): “Kokoiru” (ここにいる) by WOLF HOWL HARMONY
Comments from Cast and Artists
Sato Hajime (as Sasame Ruu)
Sasame is a person with a gentle heart, yet she also has a firm will directed toward Iwamoto-sensei. I have been trying to find a new way of performing that I haven’t tried before. I believe that after watching the finished work, every time the rain falls you will think of her without fail.
Tokudome Shinosuke (as Awatame Mizuki)
I have loved the world of this work from the very beginning — its depth, its beauty, and the peculiar charm that Chioibashi-sensei has created. Awatame is a child who loves and longs for what she herself loves. I have felt more and more connected to this character as the recording sessions go on.
THE JET BOY BANGERZ
We portray the charm of the 1910 world — filled with supernatural phenomena and the growth of the characters — in the song “BUDDING” to the fullest. We hope everyone will feel that sense of wonder through our music.
WOLF HOWL HARMONY
We poured every emotion of the characters in the story into this song — both the inner conflicts, the acceptance of self, and the warmth of Iwamoto-sensei — in “Kokoiru” (ここにいる). We hope this song will help add to the lingering feeling after watching each episode.
