The 「20th Anniversary ヨルムンガンド展」(Jormungand 20th Anniversary Exhibition), celebrating two decades of Takahashi Keitaro‘s manga Jormungand, officially opened on September 12, 2026 at the 8th-floor event space of Yurakucho Marui in Tokyo.
Inside the Venue
Visitors are greeted at the entrance by a large panel of Koko Hekmatyar, the series’ iconic protagonist, positioned as though welcoming guests into her world.
Spanning the length of the venue from entrance to back wall is an extensive collection of replica original artwork (複製原画) drawn from every chapter of the series — from the first episode to the last. Key scenes featuring main characters Koko, Jonah, Lehm, Valmet, Lutz, Mao, Ugo, R, Tojo, and Wiley are highlighted, with some pieces accompanied by the original storyboard roughs (ネーム) for comparison.
The exhibition goes beyond Koko’s squad, also presenting replica art of antagonists Scarecrow and Hex, assassin group Orchestra members including Chinatsu and her revered “teacher,” as well as supporting figures such as Kasper Hekmatyar, his bodyguard Chiquita, Dr. Miami (Amada Minami) — Koko’s secret co-architect of the Jormungand Plan — and the shadowy operative George Black.
Author Commentary
Interspersed throughout the replica artwork are handwritten comments from Takahashi Keitaro himself, offering behind-the-scenes insights: the origin of Chinatsu’s unusual character quirk, the motif behind Valmet’s tattoos, an explanation of the pivotal scene where Jonah turns a gun on Koko upon learning of the Jormungand Plan, and the author’s personal feelings upon drawing the very last page of the final chapter.
Highlight: 3D Tribute Display for R
The middle of the venue features a photo spot using newly drawn key visual illustrations of Koko, Jonah, Lehm, Valmet, and R — created by Takahashi specifically for this exhibition. Adjacent to it, color artwork from the manga’s volume covers is displayed. The emotional centerpiece is a three-dimensional diorama recreating the scene in which Koko’s team lays flowers and a bottle of whisky at R’s grave, accompanied by replica artwork depicting his final moments — a moving tribute to one of the series’ most beloved characters.
Merchandise and Rare Materials
At the back of the venue, a merchandise shop offers a range of exclusive items, including:
- Acrylic smartphone stands featuring the newly drawn key visuals
- Stickers and replica manuscript pages from memorable panels
- A set of 11 metallic-finish illustration sheets based on all 11 volume covers
The shop area also displays rare production materials: the original handwritten storyboard for Chapter 1, “Entou (炎兎)”, and toy guns modeled after the firearms used by Jonah and Lehm in the series.
