The Kaiju No. 8 anime, based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, is preparing more fun with an original short anime titled 「鳴海の平日」(Narumi no Heijitsu). It has now been announced that the short will begin streaming in fall this year, and its official main visual has also been revealed.
Narumi and His Games in the Commander’s Room
Previously, only the project’s production had been announced, with the details remaining a mystery. This time, it was revealed that Kizuki Watanabe, author of the spinoff manga 「怪獣8号RELAX」(Kaiju No. 8 RELAX), currently serialized in Shueisha’s Saikyo Jump, is handling the original story concept for the short anime.
The newly revealed key visual shows Gen Narumi, commander of the Defense Force, shut away in his room and fully absorbed in playing games, an image fans may not have expected from the character.
Special Event “防衛隊ブートキャンプ in タチカワ”
A solo event for the series titled 「防衛隊ブートキャンプ in タチカワ」 has also been announced for October 24 at Tachikawa Stage Garden in Tokyo, a venue in Tachikawa considered a “sacred place” for the work.
The confirmed participating cast members are:

Advance ticket lottery registration through Lawson Ticket (ローチケ) began on May 30.
