Kindergarten for Divine Beasts, a highly popular web novel and webtoon with over 40 million cumulative views worldwide, is heading to television as an animated series — with artificial intelligence (AI) playing an integral role in the production process.
Airing This Month on the Anione Channel
Industry sources report that the animated series will begin airing later this month on the South Korean channel Anione, operated by Daewon Broadcasting. Each episode runs approximately 10 minutes, and two chapters of the source webtoon are combined into a single broadcast episode.
Weaving AI into the Real Production Pipeline
What makes this project particularly noteworthy is its full integration of AI at every stage of production — from planning and production through to post-production. Daewon Broadcasting collaborated with Glitch Goblin Studio, an AI-focused video studio under the Korea Edu Group.
The team did not use AI merely for convenience or as an experiment, but embedded it as a genuine component of the creative process, while still prioritizing the preservation of the original webtoon’s visual atmosphere and character appeal. Direction, editing, and post-production were all elevated to broadcast-quality standards.
A representative from Daewon Broadcasting stated that this project demonstrates AI can serve as a practical creative tool in real content production — not just an academic experiment — while maintaining quality suitable for broadcast.
Story
The story follows So Min-u, an ordinary young man with no particular talent who never expected to be chosen by anyone — least of all by the mother who abandoned him. But what he receives far exceeds any expectation: a kindergarten for young divine beasts. Can Min-u look after these extraordinary little creatures as a brand-new teacher?
