The official X/Twitter account for the Kindergarten WARS (Yōchien Wars) television anime, based on the manga by Yū Chiba, announced on Thursday that Mirei Kumagai will voice Mac — a teacher in the Violet class and caretaker of Lyla, who is always seen wearing a yellow bear costume.

Staff
Shinsuke Gomi, known as an episode director on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Secrets of the Silent Witch, is directing the anime at Sunrise and Felix Film. Junko Yamanaka, whose credits include Kamisama Kiss and Servamp, is handling character design.
About the Manga
Chiba launched Kindergarten WARS on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website in September 2022. The series has surpassed 2 million copies in circulation, with its 17th compiled volume released on April 3. The manga entered its final arc in March 2025.
A spinoff manga, Yōchien Wars -LUKE- (Kindergarten WARS -LUKE-), launched in November 2024 as a 180-page story focused on the character Luke.
Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform offers the manga digitally, while Yen Press released the fourth English-language volume in print on April 28.
Story Synopsis
Rita is Convict 999, a former legendary assassin now working at a kindergarten for the children of world leaders. Her mission: protect the students from assassins sent to eliminate them. Despite her overwhelming combat ability, Rita has one critical weakness — she goes completely weak in the knees for a handsome face.
