The anime production team for Kindergarten WARS (Japanese title: Yōchien Wars) by Yu Shiba announced a new cast member last Thursday — Tetsu Inada will voice the character Gordon, the vice principal and staff nurse of Black Kindergarten.

Production Team
The anime is directed by Shinsuke Gomi, who previously helmed episodes of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Secrets of the Silent Witch, in a co-production between studios Sunrise and Felix Film. Character designs are handled by Junko Yamanaka, whose credits include Kamisama Kiss and Servamp.
Story Overview
Rita — also known as “Assassin Number 999” — is a former legendary assassin who has reinvented herself as a kindergarten teacher tasked with protecting the children of world leaders. Despite her fearsome past, she has a soft side that melts every time she meets a handsome man!
Source Manga
Yu Shiba began serializing the manga on the Shonen Jump+ app and website published by Shueisha in September 2022. The series has surpassed 2 million copies in circulation and recently released its 17th collected volume on April 3rd of last year. The manga also entered its final arc in March 2025.
For English readers, Yen Press has released volume 4 in print as of April 28th, while MANGA Plus by Shueisha offers the series digitally online.
Additionally, in November 2024 Yu Shiba launched a spin-off titled Yōchien Wars -LUKE- (Kindergarten WARS -LUKE-) — a 180-page long-form story focused on the character Luke.
