To celebrate 20 years of Yasuhisa Hara’s manga Kingdom, the special event “KinKin Kingdom” will be held at SHIBUYA TSUTAYA, 1F in Tokyo from August 4 to 11, 2026, open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Entry is free, though crowd-control queue tickets may be issued during peak hours.
A “Sengoku Cool Spot” in the Heart of Summer Shibuya
The event’s concept is a “Sengoku Cool Spot” — an invitation to beat the summer heat by immersing yourself in the blazing world of Kingdom. Hara himself contributed a comment welcoming both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
Event Highlights
- KinKin Furin Corridor — A passageway lined with more than 100 wind chimes, each accompanied by a memorable quote from the series.
- Wang Qi’s Spear Photo Spot — A life-size replica of Wang Qi’s iconic spear, approximately 2 meters long and weighing 18 kg, available for visitors to hold while posing in front of the 20th-anniversary logo.
- Replica Manuscript Gallery — Forty carefully selected replica manuscript pages spanning the series’ 20-year run, including pieces never previously exhibited and a replica page featuring Mankoku, the Zhao general appearing in the currently screening live-action film Kingdom: Soul of the Battle.
Free Cooling Gifts for Visitors
Under the banner “全軍キンキン! KinKin Item Coalition Army,” every visitor receives a cooling product in a special vinyl bag, courtesy of brand collaborations:
- August 4–6 — Gatsby Body Paper
- August 7–8 — Biore Cool Towel
- August 9–11 — Sea Breeze Ice Towel
20th Anniversary Merchandise
A range of commemorative goods will be on sale at the venue, including clear files, diorama figures, Wang Qi acrylic magnet collections, T-shirts, and replica manuscripts. Note: only cashless payment is accepted at the venue.
Comment from Author Yasuhisa Hara
“This hot summer marks the 20th anniversary of Kingdom and the release of the fifth film, and we’re opening a Kingdom event right in the middle of Shibuya! There will be elaborate decorations and sculptures, plus replica manuscript pages from volume 40 onward that couldn’t be shown at the Kingdom Exhibition. Original merchandise will also be on sale. Whether you’re a Kingdom reader or not, this is a space everyone can enjoy — so please come cool off in the blazing world of Kingdom.”
— Yasuhisa Hara, author of Kingdom
