The TV drama Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto Season 2 (based on the manga by Kinoshita Keiko) has unveiled additional cast members, its opening theme song, and a new promotional video.
Three New Cast Members as Iwanaga’s Ex-Boyfriends
The newly announced actors will play the three former partners of Iwanaga Takashi, portrayed by Furuya Robin:
- Fukamizu Motoki as Hibino Takaaki — an older ex-boyfriend who was involved with Iwanaga during his doctoral studies, and works as an economist.
- Akune Haruyo (of ICEx) as Taniguchi Rui — Iwanaga’s only younger ex, who dated him four years ago.
- Onuki Yusuke as Arima Sota — an ex-boyfriend from Iwanaga’s university days.

Opening Theme: “Scenario” by Mel
Returning from Season 1, artist Mel has written a new opening theme titled 「Scenario」 exclusively for Season 2. Mel describes the track as carrying “a more mature atmosphere than the previous theme 『コヨイノウタ』,” and says it was created around the theme of what kind of future the two leads hope for and how they will walk through life together. The song features in the newly released promotional video, and Mel encourages viewers to watch it alongside the drama to fully appreciate its meaning.
Story
Koi wo Suru nara Nidome ga Joto is a BL story that begins with the reunion of Miyata, a business-book editor, and Iwanaga, a popular university associate professor. Season 2 picks up two years after the happy ending of Season 1, exploring how Miyata’s heart is shaken when Iwanaga’s ex-boyfriends begin to make their presence felt.
