The 10th anniversary event for the KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!! anime, titled “Colorful,” officially confirmed on Sunday that a fourth television anime season — KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! 4 — is in production and set to air in 2027. The event unveiled an “ultra teaser visual” and announced both the returning cast and new production staff.
Staff & Studio
Takaomi Kanasaki returns as chief director, joined by Manabu Kurihara — known for directing both seasons of The Detective Is Already Dead — as the new series director. Production will be handled by studio ENGI, marking a change from previous entries: Studio DEEN animated the first two seasons, Drive handled the third, and J.C. Staff produced the film.

Much of the creative team is returning: Makoto Uezu is back overseeing the series scripts, Koichi Kikuta returns for character design, Yoshikazu Iwanami reprises his role as sound director, and Masato Kōda is once again composing the score.
10th Anniversary Video
The event also debuted a special 10th anniversary video featuring a newly arranged version of Machico‘s iconic first-season opening theme, “fantastic dreamer.”
Series History
The first KonoSuba television anime season premiered in January 2016, followed by the second in January 2017, with Crunchyroll streaming both simulcast. The anime film KONOSUBA – God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World– Legend of Crimson opened in Japan in August 2019 and screened in the United States via Crunchyroll and Fathom Events in November 2019.
The spinoff anime Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, based on the novel series by Natsume Akatsuki and Kurone Mishima, aired for 12 episodes beginning in April 2023. KonoSuba Season 3 followed in April 2024 with 11 episodes, streamed by Crunchyroll with both subtitles and an English dub. The Season 4 announcement was first teased at the end of screenings of the OVA Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! 3 -Bonus Stage-, which Crunchyroll is currently streaming.
KonoSuba Mobile & PC Game
Original light novelist Natsume Akatsuki is supervising a new game titled Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! ~Kono Ai Subeki Machi ni Hanei o! (KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!! Prosperity on this lovely town!), set to launch on mobile and PC this year. Novel illustrator Kurone Mishima is also collaborating on the project.
