Every year brings a wealth of new anime to follow, and one category that consistently captures fan attention is anime adapted from light novels and novels — whether action, isekai, slice-of-life, fantasy across different worlds, or literary fiction. Stories that come to life through the power of animation carry a fresh appeal that keeps fans glued to the screen.
In 2026, several works adapted from novels and light novels are already in production as anime, including Fate/strange Fake, ALL YOU NEED IS KILL, and クスノキの番人 (Kusunoki no Bannin), demonstrating the wide variety of genres making their way to the animated screen.
