Manga artist Kajiya (火事屋) has launched a new series titled Madou Gishi Serefia no Magical☆Makaizo Recipe (The Magical Body-Mod Recipe of Mage Engineer Serefia) under the Isekai no SHURO label of publisher Leed-sha.
A World Built on Magical Biotech
The story is set in a world where the technology to copy and replicate magical creatures has become a fundamental part of everyday infrastructure. The protagonist, Serefia, is a mage engineer of extraordinary talent — but her complete lack of professional ethics has cost her any chance of obtaining a state license, leaving her to operate as an unlicensed underground practitioner.
Clients With Very Unusual Requests
Because of her reputation, the clients who seek Serefia out tend to bring requests that are firmly on the wrong side of the law. In the first chapter, a middle-aged man arrives with a deeply peculiar wish: he wants to be fused with a slime so he can spend his days as a filtration unit in a hot-spring bath, absorbing the grime of female bathers.
The flagrantly illegal body-modification request leaves Serefia’s apprentice, Rio, clutching his head in despair. Serefia, however, sees no reason to refuse if the client truly wants it — and cheerfully transforms the man into a slime without a second thought.
