The official website for the Magical Explorer television anime — based on the light novel series by Iris and Noboru Kannatsuki — announced on Friday that the show will premiere in October. The site simultaneously unveiled the first key visual and the first promotional video for the series.

Kazuki Ohashi (Shadows House) is directing the anime at studio WHITE FOX. Satoko Sekine (TsukiPro the Animation) is handling series composition, Ryosuke Kimiya (Grimoire of Zero) is in charge of character design, and Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) is composing the score.

Yen Press, which publishes both the light novel series and the manga adaptation by Yukari Higa, describes the premise as follows:
Living in the world of Magical★Explorer, the legendary erotic game, sounds like a dream. Problem is, I reincarnated not as the lady-killer protagonist with his overpowered cheat skills, but as his unlucky comic-relief best friend!
Publication History
The original light novel series launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in February 2018. Kadokawa began releasing it in print in November 2019, and the 13th volume shipped on April 1. The manga adaptation began serialization in Young Ace Up in August 2020; Kadokawa published the third compiled volume on January 8.
