Anime fans, get ready! 『魔法のプリンセス ミンキーモモ 憧れの夢へ まごころの二重奏（デュオ）』 (Magical Princess Minky Momo: Akogare no Yume e, Magokoro no Duo), an all-new OVA in the legendary Magical Princess Minky Momo series, has officially confirmed its release date. It will open in theaters from November 13, 2026, led by Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo and other theaters nationwide.
32 Years of Waiting
Magical Princess Minky Momo first aired in 1982 and is praised as a work that transformed the magical girl anime genre through creative writing and carefully crafted artwork, becoming beloved by fans of all ages. A new series, 魔法のプリンセス ミンキーモモ 夢を抱きしめて, followed in 1991, along with several OVAs. This all-new work is the first in 32 years and is also part of the celebration of Ashi Productions’ 50th anniversary.
Synopsis
The land of dreams and hopes known as “Dejinasa” exists through the energy of dreams. But as humans begin losing their dreams and hopes, that energy decreases, putting the land at risk of disappearing. The king sends three attendants, Chamochacha, Dettabook, and Pipirupi, to seek help from Minky Momo.
Momo, a 12-year-old girl who has just received a smartphone for her birthday, meets the three attendants and awakens as Minky Momo, determined to save Dejinasa. As she continues gathering dream energy, a mysterious app begins spreading among children. The dreams discussed in the app are all merely “shallow dreams” driven by a desire for approval and popularity numbers. Momo begins questioning the true meaning of everyone’s dreams.

Special Comment from the Previous Series Director
May 30 is Minky Momo’s birthday, so the staff released a comment and illustration from Kunihiko Yuyama (湯山邦彦), chief director of the previous series. His message reads:
“Minky Momo returns when you have forgotten her… when everyone’s dreams and hopes are about to disappear.”
The message reflects Momo’s long history and carries strong expectations for this new work.

A special fan event will also be held, with selected fan art to be printed in the OVA’s theater program.
