The new OVA Magical Princess Minky Momo: Towards the Dream of Longing — Duet of Sincere Hearts (「魔法のプリンセス ミンキーモモ 憧れの夢へ まごころの二重奏」) has unveiled its first teaser trailer and main key visual, along with a full cast announcement.
Story & Background
This marks the first all-new OVA for the Magical Princess Minky Momo franchise in 32 years. The story centers on the kingdom of Diginasa — a land of dreams and hope — which faces extinction after people in the world lose their dreams, causing its vital “dream energy” to dwindle. Minky Momo and her companions set out to save the kingdom before it disappears forever.
The teaser offers glimpses of Momo and her friends fighting to protect Diginasa. The key visual features Momo alongside her three animal companions: Dettabook (a dog), Chamocha (a monkey), and Pipirpi (a bird). Two mysterious characters seen from behind, playing a grand piano as a duet, also appear in the visual.

Cast Comments
Kurumi Yaki (Momo) said she feels deeply honored to take on the lead role of a series beloved across generations. While she initially couldn’t believe she had been chosen, she poured her heart into the performance, staying true to Momo’s straightforward belief in dreams, and hopes the film will deliver courage and hope to audiences.
Fukuji Ochiai (Dettabook) shared that he watched Minky Momo as a child, so being able to exist inside that world as a voice actor is an incredible joy. He looks forward to supporting Momo alongside Pipirpi and Chamocha.
Natsumi Fujiwara (Chamocha) expressed excitement at being part of such a milestone, noting that working on a story centered on dreams gave her many personal discoveries, and she hopes viewers will feel the same sense of wonder.
Rie Kugimiya (Pipirpi) described Pipirpi as a cute, cheeky little bird who adores Momo — a character she found great fun to voice — and invited fans to look forward to the theatrical release.
Release & Tickets
Advance tickets with bonus gifts went on sale on July 24. The OVA will open nationwide in Japan, including at Shinjuku Baltic 9, on Friday, November 13, 2026.
