The film 「劇場版 魔法科高校の劣等生 四葉継承編」 (Gekijouban Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Yotsuba Succession-hen) offered a special gift to theatergoers in the form of newly written manga chapters by the original author Satou Tsutomu, distributed across 4 consecutive weeks. The latest reveal includes the cover visual and the week 3 spinoff manga title.
Week 3 Manga: “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Astro Buddy”
The third volume is titled 「魔法科高校の劣等生 アストロバディ」 (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Astro Buddy), with new cover artwork by Ishida Kana, the character designer for the original series. Distribution begins on May 23.
For week 4, 「魔法科高校の劣等生 虚空ダイバー」 (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Kokuu Diver) is waiting for audiences as well.
Bonus Gift: Beautiful Shikishi Mini-Cards
In addition to the manga, a new visual for the “Mini色紙風カード” (mini shikishi-style card) set — the second bonus gift for first-week attendees — has also been revealed. Illustrated by Ishida Kana as well, the set includes 3 designs and one card at random will be given to each attendee.
Cumulative Attendance Reaches 161,390
The film entered its second week of release, and including the advance special screening before the general opening, cumulative attendance has reached 161,390 — a remarkable figure.
The film’s story follows Miyuki being put forward as the next heir to lead the Yotsuba clan, amid the clan’s complex succession plans. She must face the “Kekkai Ceremony” — a ritual charged with power plays and political maneuvering.
