The official website for the television anime adaptation of Nao Iwamoto‘s manga Marronnier Ōkoku no Shichinin no Kishi (The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom) launched its first promotional video and main visual on Monday, simultaneously announcing the full main cast and confirming the series will premiere on October 3.
Story
The fantasy romance series follows seven brothers who serve as knights of the Marronnier Kingdom, a realm situated at the center of a group of eight kingdoms. Each brother is dispatched to a different kingdom as an ambassador, embarking on an adventure to find his fated partner. The brothers are named Nemukunai (Not Sleepy), Hakuai (Benevolent), Atsugariya (Sensitive to Heat), Samugariya (Sensitive to Cold), Kemono Tsukai (Beast Tamer), Tsurugi Jiman (Sword Pride), and Harapeko (Hungry).

Staff
The anime is produced at J.C. Staff under the direction of Kiyoko Sayama, known for Skip Beat!, Vampire Knight, and To Your Eternity seasons 2–3. Shinzō Fujita (To Your Eternity seasons 1–3, The World Is Still Beautiful) is handling series composition and script supervision. Yuriko Maeda, chief animation director on Requiem of the Rose King and One Punch Man TV season 2, is designing the characters. Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Apocalypse Hotel, Land of the Lustrous, Love Live! School idol project) is composing the music, and Jin Aketagawa (Dr. Stone, Fire Force) serves as sound director.
About the Manga
Iwamoto’s manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Flowers magazine since 2016, with the 11th compiled volume shipping on June 10. The series topped the female-reader rankings in Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2018 guidebook. Iwamoto’s other work, Kingdom of Gold, Kingdom of Water, was previously adapted into the Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom anime film, which opened in January 2023.
The anime premieres October 3 on NHK Educational at 6:25 p.m. JST.
