Something fans never imagined has become reality: 「名探偵コナン」(Detective Conan) and 「名探偵プリキュア！」(Detective PreCure!) have officially announced a cross-series collaboration, with special episodes set to air on both franchises this June.
Two Series, Two Broadcasters, One Historic Crossover
「名探偵コナン」is produced by TMS Entertainment (トムス・エンタテインメント) and broadcasts on Yomiuri TV–Nippon TV, while 「名探偵プリキュア！」is produced by Toei Animation (東映アニメーション) and airs on ABC TV–TV Asahi. Despite different production companies, different TV networks, and different manga publishers, both sides managed to overcome every obstacle to make this first-ever collaboration a reality.
A collaboration visual has also been revealed, depicting Edogawa Conan and Cure Answer standing back to back, alongside the iconic silhouette of a detective.
About Both Series
「名探偵コナン」has been on the air since 1996, and in 2026 celebrates its 30th anniversary. The story follows high school detective Kudou Shinichi, who is forced by a criminal organization to drink a poison that shrinks him to a child’s body, and must live under the alias Edogawa Conan while solving various cases.
「名探偵プリキュア！」is the 23rd entry in the “PreCure” franchise, which began in 2004. It follows Akagi Anna, a protagonist who time-travels back to 1999 and becomes a detective PreCure under the name Cure Answer.
Episode 1: 「名探偵プリキュア！」— May 31
This episode is titled 「名探偵の共演（アッセンブル）」. The event begins when a shoe from a display known as “the thing I left behind when I went on a trip” goes missing from the Hohojoza Art Museum, and Anna and her friends suspect it may be the work of a phantom thief fan. They set out in pursuit and unexpectedly encounter Conan, Mouri Ran, and Mouri Kogoro, who have traveled to Makoto-miru City on a visit. Will PreCure and Conan join forces to solve this mystery?
Episode 2: 「名探偵コナン」— June 6
This episode is titled 「はなまる真実（アンサー））」. In the city of Beco, a jewelry theft keeps occurring repeatedly, and Yoshida Ayumi, a fan of the PreCure anime, thinks to herself “if there were a thief, the PreCure would have to come!” and excitedly wishes to meet the characters in person. The junior detective team is dispatched to guard a jewelry shop suspected of being the next target. They stake out the suspect, uncover motives and hiding spots, and the police are able to catch all the thieves — but then Ayumi notices something odd…
Producer Comments from Both Sides
Yoshida Takeshi (Producer, 「名探偵コナン」/ Yomiuri TV): “It has been a year since I first met Producer Tada… Every time I think back to that day, I feel warmth in my heart. A collaboration between two works from different broadcasters, different production companies, and different publishers had no precedent before this — but even before thinking about the obstacles, I was confident it would definitely be fun. The coordination process that followed was genuinely difficult… I’ll leave the imagining to you (laughs). And please watch until the very end of Next Conan’s Hint — don’t miss it!”
Tada Kanako (Producer, 「名探偵プリキュア！」/ ABC Animation): “A year has passed now. I went to ask Producer Yoshida whether ‘could we do a collaboration with 名探偵コナン next year?’ I was truly overjoyed that it became reality in this form. I knew there would be many obstacles, and even if it didn’t succeed I still wanted to try — but when I met the 名探偵コナン team and everyone shared the same intention of ‘let’s make this as fun as possible for the viewers,’ we were able to reach this point. 名探偵コナン, which I have watched on TV since childhood and which has been loved for 30 years… I feel deeply moved and am sincerely grateful.”
