Voice actress Mitsuishi Kotono (三石琴乃) has set social media abuzz after posting a photo of a hand-drawn illustration of Sailor Moon on a potato chip package to her personal X (formerly Twitter) account. The artwork, created to celebrate the birthday of Tsukino Usagi — the character Mitsuishi has voiced for decades — quickly went viral, with fans clamouring for it to be turned into official merchandise.
A One-of-a-Kind Birthday Gift for Usagi
Mitsuishi shared the post in honour of “Tsukino Usagi Sailor Moon Birthday 2026,” celebrated on June 30, 2026. In her caption, she wrote:
“I drew a limited-edition, one-of-a-kind original potato chip package to commemorate Tsukino Usagi Sailor Moon’s birthday. Happy to look at, happy to eat. Usagi, thank you for always giving me energy. Afterwards, Mitsuishi enjoyed them deliciously.”
The photo shows a Calbee potato chip bag featuring the currently popular monochrome packaging design, with Mitsuishi’s hand-drawn illustration of Sailor Moon clearly visible on the front.

The post drew an outpouring of admiration from fans on X, with comments including:

Mitsuishi Kotono is celebrated for voicing numerous beloved characters, including Katsuragi Misato in Neon Genesis Evangelion, Meimei in Jujutsu Kaisen, and Boa Hancock in ONE PIECE.
As for Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon, the franchise entered its 30th anniversary in January 2022, counting from the start of the original manga serialisation, and the “30th Anniversary Project” remains ongoing. On the same day as Mitsuishi’s post, the official Sailor Moon website and X account also published a special colour illustration by original creator Takeuchi Naoko, commemorating the birthdays of both Tsukino Usagi and Chibiusa.
