Miyata Toshiya, a member of the popular idol group Kis-My-Ft2, will appear as a guest voice actor in the TV anime 「ポケットモンスター」 (Pokémon) episode 141, scheduled to air on June 19, 2026, on the TV Tokyo network at 18:55.
A Special Collaboration Episode with Pokémon UNITE
Episode 141 is titled 「READY GO！ユナイトバトル!!」 and is a special collaboration episode produced together with the game Pokémon UNITE. The story follows Liko and the Rising Volteccers team as they journey to Aeos Island — the main stage of the game — to compete in a “Unite Battle.”
Miyata will voice the leader of the team Shining Oceans, a popular idol unit among the game’s fans who are outstanding in both popularity and combat skill. His character will become Liko’s opponent in battle, with a partner Pokémon, Sirfetch’d, always by his side.
Miyata Shares His Feelings — The Role That Fits Him Best
「アニポケは子供の頃から見てきたので、作品に関わることができて本当に嬉しいです。芸能界で一番「ポケモンユナイト」が上手いと思うので、僕が適任なんじゃないかなと思いながら、ポケモンへの愛をもって演じさせていただきました！」
Miyata expressed that he has followed the Pokémon anime since childhood and is truly delighted to be involved with this project. He also confidently asserted that he believes he is the best Pokémon UNITE player in the entertainment industry, pouring all of his love for Pokémon into his performance this time.
Also Appearing in “Pokémon to Doko Iku!?”
In addition to this, Miyata will appear on the program 「ポケモンとどこいく!?」 (Pokémon to Doko Iku!?) on the TV Tokyo network every Sunday at 7:30. He will make appearances for 3 consecutive weeks starting May 31, and in the broadcast on June 14, behind-the-scenes footage of his voice recording session will be featured.
Pokémon UNITE Collaboration Event Also Announced
The Pokémon UNITE side is not staying quiet either, as a collaboration event with the Pokémon anime has been announced, beginning on June 4, 2026. Fans of both franchises will have plenty to look forward to together.
