Just in time for Halloween, AMNIBUS — the online shop specialising in original anime and manga merchandise — has opened pre-orders for a brand-new goods collection from the beloved anime series Nintama Rantaro (忍たま乱太郎), featuring all-new illustrations under the theme “Trip or Sweet no Dan ver.”
About Nintama Rantaro
Nintama Rantaro is based on the manga Rakudai Ninja Rantaro (落第忍者乱太郎) by Amako Sobei, which began serialisation in the Asahi Shogakusei Shinbun newspaper in 1986. The TV anime adaptation launched in 1993 and has since been cherished by fans of all ages. Set during the Sengoku period, the series follows the cheerful, comedic daily lives of young ninja-in-training — known as “nintama” — at a ninja academy, centred on the trio of Rantaro, Kirimaru, and Shinbee.
Most recently, in December 2024, the theatrical film Gekijouban Nintama Rantaro: Dokutake Ninjatai Saikyou no Gunshi hit cinemas. Adapted from the popular novel of the same name, the film takes a notably more serious tone than the TV series, beginning with the disappearance of Teacher Doi after he sets out to duel Tasogaredoki ninja Moroizumi Sonnamon.
