A new manga, 「能ある地味姫は正体を隠す。」 (Nou Aru Jimi Hime wa Shōtai wo Kakusu — The Talented Plain Princess Hides Her True Self), by artist Kokono Hitono (鵲野ひとの), officially launched on the platform MagComi on May 19. It is an adaptation of the light novel by Hasumi Arata (葛実アラタ).
Story Summary
The protagonist is Sharl (シャルル), the second princess of a kingdom, who has an ordinary, unremarkable appearance and has long been dismissed by those around her as “the plain princess.” One day, her fiancé calls off their engagement, claiming he has fallen in love at first sight with her beautiful younger sister Elruka (エルルカ). To make matters worse, Sharl is stripped of her title as princess and exiled from the country.
However, instead of being heartbroken or devastated, Sharl finds herself unexpectedly excited and genuinely happy — because these events have granted her true freedom for the first time, allowing her to live the life she has always wanted, for reasons hidden behind the scenes.
