NTT Solmare and the staff of the Obey Me! franchise issued a statement on Monday announcing the removal of voice actor Miura Ayme from the role of Asmodeus, describing the decision as mutual.
The announcement cited the results of an internal investigation that confirmed Ayme had allegedly engaged in private contact with a fan “believed to be” under the age of 18 at the time. The statement clarified that while “no sexual contact was confirmed,” the conduct still “crossed the professional boundaries expected of our cast members.”
The franchise staff confirmed that Asmodeus’ storyline will continue, and that plans for recasting the character — including in the upcoming game Obey Me! Sinner’s Choice: Lucifer — as well as in-game voice updates will be announced at a later date.
About the Obey Me! Franchise
Obey Me! – One Master to Rule Them All is a romance simulation mobile game developed by NTT Solmare Corporation and part of the broader Shall We Date? otome game series. The story follows a human protagonist chosen to attend RAD, a school for demons, where they encounter seven demon brothers each with a distinct personality.
The game was adapted into a short-form anime series, with the first season debuting on the official Obey Me! YouTube channel with English subtitles in July 2021. A second season followed in July 2022. Both seasons are currently available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Ayme had most recently appeared at Anime Expo in July 2025 alongside fellow Obey Me! cast members for a fan meeting event.
