The heartwarming manga 「おまえ、タヌキにならねーか？」(Omae, Tanuki ni Naranee ka?) by Nagawa Tomo, serialized in comic POOL (Ichijinsha), has been officially announced for adaptation as a TV anime.
Synopsis
The story revolves around Koganemaru, a reserved young man who appears before people without warning. In truth, he is a “tanuki spirit” — a shape-shifting raccoon dog who goes out among humans to recruit more inhabitants for his mountain. The chance encounters and gentle clashes between Koganemaru and the tanuki spirits slowly wear down the walls around each person’s heart. This is a story about a person weary from constant effort who finds himself again through these meetings with the tanuki.

Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and a special preview trailer have been released. The trailer shows the tanuki spirits frolicking freely in nature, accompanied by the gentle, evocative music of Seki Minako, which adds further warmth and color to this charming title.
An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account have also launched on the same day, and will serve as the primary channels for future updates.
