At Paradox Live Dope Show 2026, held at Ariake Arena on May 30-31, 2026, it was officially announced that Paradox Live THE ANIMATION will be made into a film. New characters who did not appear in the TV series will also take part.

From Music Project to the Silver Screen

Paradox Live began in November 2019 as a project centered on CD releases and live events, before expanding into a multi-dimensional music-based franchise. In October 2023, the TV anime Paradox Live THE ANIMATION aired and created major buzz in Japan, with related terms trending on X (Twitter) multiple times.

The TV series is set in a near-future world where HIPHOP culture has become saturated and a new phenomenon called “幻影ライブ (Phantom Live)” has emerged. Eight teams that each excel in their own musical style enter the mysterious “Paradox Live” competition for different reasons. The work’s appeal lies in how tightly it blends music, story, and characters, earning popularity both in Japan and overseas.

The Film: 9 Teams and 29 Characters

The first announcement video has been released. It begins with the text “That excitement returns to the screen–“, before the Paradox Live logo changes into the Paradox Live THE ANIMATION logo. It then shows line art of characters from five teams that appeared in the TV series: BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, 悪漢奴等 (Akkan Yatsura), and 武雷管 (Buraikan).

The video then reveals line art of members from four teams that had not appeared in the TV anime: VISTY, AMPRULE, 1Nm8, and 獄Luck, confirming that the film will feature 29 characters from nine teams.

Production will be handled by STUDIO GRAPH77, known for Fujimoto Tatsuki 17-26 “Shikaku”. Details about the story and release date have not yet been announced.

4th Season Begins in September 2026

In addition to the film news, it was announced that Paradox Live 4th SEASON will begin in September 2026. A teaser PV was also released, filled with mysterious keywords such as “ファントメタル (Phantometal),” “CLUB Paradox,” and partially censored text, hinting that the story of Paradox Live is about to move in a major way.

Cover Project “PROPS” and Stage Performances

The first Paradox Live cover project, “PROPS”, was also announced. Each team will cover a famous song, for a total of nine tracks, with respect for the originals.

Paradox Live on Stage also officially announced its third round of performances, split into two productions:

• Paradox Live on Stage -Road to Legend- “RAGE” – October 2 to October 11, 2026
• Paradox Live on Stage -Road to Legend- “FATE” – February 19 to February 28, 2027

This round will feature the stage debut of the four new teams VISTY, AMPRULE, 1Nm8, and 獄Luck. New cast information and a key visual for “RAGE” have already been released.

Special Illustrations and Blu-ray

Illustrator Keiko will unveil new illustrations of all 29 characters in July. The first preview image released ahead of time features 緋景斗真 (Hike Toma).

The Blu-ray and DVD for Paradox Live Dope Show 2026 will go on sale on October 21, 2026 for 13,200 yen, tax included. It includes both days of performances, May 30-31, plus a bonus booklet. Archive streaming for the event is available until June 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
