The official website for Perfect Addiction, a “light anime” adapted from the boys-love manga by Kaoruko Miyama, has launched with the announcement of the key visual, main cast, production team, and an air date on channel tvk this coming July.

Story
Akihito is a student deeply obsessed with appearances and gender roles, but he cannot bring himself to fall in love with Sae, a handsome young man who is cool and indifferent to everyone. The tension between the two reaches a breaking point when a girl at a party seeks out Akihito as her partner, claiming to be interested in Sae instead. Furious, Akihito begins secretly following Sae to a hotel and uncovers his secret—Sae is gay and struggles to experience pleasure from sex. Akihito’s attempts to tear down the walls around Sae’s heart end up awakening something in both of them, forcing them both to confront the question of whether they can still control themselves.
About Label BALLOON and the “Light Anime” Concept
Perfect Addiction is the second project under a new boys-love label called BALLOON, a joint venture by IMAGICA Infos, Dai Nippon Printing (DNP), CYBIRD, and BLUE RIGHTS, launched the previous year. The label’s first project was a light anime adaptation of the light novel Saioshi no Gikei o Mederu Tame, Nagaikishimasu! by Tenma Asahi, which began airing on January 3.
The “light anime” concept was pioneered by DNP to produce anime content at a lower budget and with a faster production cycle than traditional methods. Label BALLOON aims to release four titles in the fiscal year 2026, with plans to expand to ten or more titles per year by 2028.
About the Source Manga
The Perfect Addiction manga has been serialized in the online magazine Gush published by Kaiohsha since April 2022, and currently has four collected volumes in print. Volume 4 was released on March 10 of this year, with total circulation across all editions exceeding 1.5 million copies. The English-language rights have been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment, which will release the collected omnibus Volume 2 on July 21.
