The staff behind the new Ranma 1/2 anime — based on Rumiko Takahashi‘s classic manga — released the third promotional video for Season 3 on Monday. The clip offers the first look at both the opening and ending theme songs for the upcoming season.
Season 3 Theme Songs
Fumino performs the opening theme “Sunao Miman” (Below Honesty), while Yuika takes on the ending theme “Kawaikunai” (Not Cute).
New Cast Members
Several new voice actors are joining the cast for Season 3:
- Masako Nozawa as Grand Master
- Jun Fukuyama as Sentarō Daimonji
- Mayumi Tanaka in an unannounced role
- Saori Hayami in an unannounced role
- Minami Tanaka as Tsubasa Kurenai
Seiya of comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo will also make a guest appearance in a role yet to be revealed, and has been named the season’s promotional ambassador.
Staff
Kōnosuke Uda returns to direct at MAPPA, with the majority of the previous season’s staff reprising their roles. Chief animation directors Yoshiko Saitō and Kōsuke Kawamura are back, now joined by Riko Kaneda (animation director on Season 1) and Haruki Miura (Ensemble Stars!, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean). Returning main animator Masahiro Kurio is joined by Atsuko Ishida (key animator on the 1989 Ranma ½ anime) and Yoshihiro Takeda (The Devil Is a Part-Timer! seasons 2 & 3).
Series Background
The new anime’s first season premiered across Japan in October 2024, with Netflix handling exclusive streaming rights after broadcast. Kōnosuke Uda directed, Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon, Astro Note) handled series scripts, and Hiromi Taniguchi (Kurage no Shokudō) designed the characters.
Season 2 followed in October 2025 on NTV, again streaming on Netflix. Most of the Season 1 staff returned, with Kōsuke Kawamura added as a chief animation director and Ryūta Hayashi joining Chihiro Ōkawa to co-direct the art.
