The TV anime The Frontier Lord Begins with Zero Subjects (Ryomin Zero-nin Start no Henkyou Ryoushu-sama) is set to air on TOKYO MX on July 10, 2026. The production has now officially revealed additional cast information, the opening and ending theme songs, and its second PV.

About the Story

The series is adapted from the novel by Fuurou, published under Earth Star Novel. It follows Dias, a national hero who is sent to rule an empty frontier territory with not a single subject living there. After meeting Alna, a girl from an oni tribe, he is taken to her village, where his slow-life frontier-building adventure begins.

Additional Cast

Five additional cast members have been announced for new characters:

• Francis (a mea that lives in the oni village like a member of the family) – voiced by Rikuya Yasuda
• Francois (another mea living in the oni village) – voiced by Maria Abo
• Mole (the chief of the oni tribe, who has horns like Alna and can use magic) – voiced by Kujira
• Diane (the third princess of the royal capital, who comes to Dias seeking help in the succession to the throne) – voiced by Yoko Hikasa
• Eima (an ajin from the “jumping big-eared mouse tribe,” highly intelligent, literate, and living in Eldan’s territory) – voiced by Nao Higashiyama

Opening and Ending Themes

The opening theme is “Wonder” by the Japanese-Korean band CROWN HEAD. The ending theme is “Hoshi Furu Yoru no Yakusoku” (A Promise on a Starry Night), performed by Hanaya. A sample of “Wonder” can also be heard in the second PV.

Rikuya Yasuda (Francis)

Francis is a mea. Right now, he can only say “Mea~!” but Abo-san and I put everything into every scene so we could leave an impression. There may even be episodes where the mea get to show what they can really do. Please look forward to it!

Maria Abo (Francois)

Ryomin 0-nin begins in a land with nothing but grass, then gradually gains more and more distinctive companions. The bonds between the characters are incredibly charming. Francois is cute and lovable, but the mea are also very intelligent creatures. Please pay attention to the meaning behind every line and to the live performance I share with Yasuda-san.

Kujira (Mole)

Mole is the chief of the oni tribe, an old woman who can use magic (laughs). She may help Dias grow into a true lord, though she might also show a fierce side at times. Please enjoy this warm, rural-style fantasy!

Yoko Hikasa (Diane)

Diane is the third princess who becomes involved with Dias in the story. I hope everyone will watch how she changes after seeing Dias’ strength and generous spirit.

Nao Higashiyama (Eima)

The more you watch this work, the more you come to love its characters. Please pay attention to Eima’s adorable gestures. She is small, but very capable and reliable. The music I heard during recording was also beautiful.

CROWN HEAD (Opening Theme)

Congratulations on the anime adaptation. We are deeply honored to have been entrusted with the opening theme. “Wonder” conveys feelings of loneliness and the value of trusting others. We hope the song fully reflects the world Dias sees.

Hanaya (Ending Theme)

“Hoshi Furu Yoru no Yakusoku” was written so that everyone can remember the pure dreams and sincere feelings they may have forgotten over time, through promises once made in the past.
