The drama series Shiawase Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu 2 (Happy Kanako’s Hitman Life 2), based on the four-panel manga by Toshiya Wakabayashi, is set to premiere exclusively on DMM TV on September 17, 2026. A new key visual and behind-the-scenes stills have been released alongside the announcement.

The newly unveiled key visual features Kanako gripping a pistol while Sakurai fixes a sharp gaze down the barrel of his own weapon. Surrounding the duo are flying bullets and the series’ signature comic animals — creatures that voice Kanako’s inner monologue in gag form. Scene photos show the pair in both casual attire and their all-black hitman gear, as well as a café scene between Kanako and her best friend Kiyomi.

All principal cast members from Season 1 are confirmed to return:
- Non — Kanako, the former office worker turned hitman
- Taisuke Fujigaya (Kis-My-Ft2) — Sakurai, Kanako’s senior hitman colleague
- Atsuro Watabe — the president of the hitman company
- Yuma Yamoto — Detective Takehara, who pursues the legendary hitman “K” while harbouring feelings for Kanako
- Hirona Yamazaki — Detective Omori, Takehara’s partner
- Yuka Sugai — Kiyomi, Kanako’s middle-school best friend
- Shun Suda — the boss of the Otaki-gumi yakuza group
- Tae Kimura — Kanako’s mother

Production Details
The series is directed by Tsutomu Ei, with scripts by Tsutomu Ei, Ruriko Matsushima, and Yusuke Aose. The source manga by Toshiya Wakabayashi is published by Seikaisha COMICS.
The story follows Kanako, who escapes a gruelling black-company job only to accidentally land a position at a hitman agency — where she discovers she has a surprising natural talent for the work. The series blends action and comedy throughout.
