The youth-support variety program Mangachi: Reiwa no Manga-do will air tomorrow, May 30, 2026, at 15:30, on KAB Kumamoto Asahi Broadcasting and other network stations across Japan.
The program follows students in the Manga Department of Takamori High School in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan’s first specialized manga creation department at a public high school. The department opened in the 2023 school year, and its first class graduated in spring 2026.
The special covers the students’ three-year journey as they devoted their youth to manga, pursuing dreams of becoming manga artists or creators in related fields. It also follows the first steps taken by the graduates as they move toward their futures.
