โปสเตอร์นิทรรศการ 士郎正宗の世界展 สาขานาโกย่า ปี 2569

The large-scale exhibition 「士郎正宗の世界展 ~『攻殻機動隊』と創造の軌跡~」 (The World of Shirow Masamune — Ghost in the Shell and the Path of Creation) will open at Matsuzakaya Nagoya Store, 8th floor South Wing (Matsuzakaya Hall) in Aichi Prefecture from August 2-16, 2026. Tickets will go on sale through e+ from June 12 at 10:00 a.m.

Who Is Shirow Masamune?

Shirow Masamune made his mainstream manga debut in 1985 with the science-fiction work Appleseed, before beginning serialization of Ghost in the Shell (攻殻機動隊) in 1989. His work stands out for combining advanced technologies that were not widely known at the time with a philosophical worldview, creating universes that seemed to accurately predict today’s information society. His highly detailed art, information-dense plots and author’s notes that stretch to the edges of the page have sparked readers’ imaginations and inspired creators across many fields to this day. A new TV anime series in the Ghost in the Shell franchise is also scheduled to begin airing on July 7.

About the Exhibition

The exhibition presents a wide range of Shirow’s works, including Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Dominion and works being shown publicly for the first time. It features both analog originals and digital prints, while also introducing books from his personal collection and notes on the artist’s thinking. It is billed as the first large-scale exhibition to truly dig into Shirow Masamune’s personal identity.

The exhibition has already been held in Tokyo and Osaka, drawing more than 65,000 visitors in total. This Nagoya stop marks its first appearance in the Tokai region.
