An anime fan’s dream is becoming reality: TV anime 「Snowball Earth」 and TV anime 「Yūki Bakuhatsu Burn Bravern」 (勇気爆発バーンブレイバーン) have officially announced a collaboration, revealing brand-new artwork and a special crossover manga created exclusively for this occasion.
About the Two Works
Snowball Earth is adapted from the manga of the same name by Yūjirō Tsujitsugi, serialized in the magazine “Monthly! Spirits” (月刊！スピリッツ) by Shogakukan. Cumulative sales across all volumes have now surpassed 800,000 copies. The story is a sci-fi survival tale set on a world engulfed by ice and snow.
Yūki Bakuhatsu Burn Bravern is an original mecha anime produced by CygamesPictures under the direction of Masami Ōbari, a master of the genre. The story is set in a near-future era of mechanized warfare where humanoid weapons known as “Titano-Strides” (TS) proliferate across the globe. It begins with the encounter between Isami Aō, a soldier defending his homeland Japan, and Lewis Smith, a U.S. Navy officer stationed in Oahu, Hawaii — a pivotal meeting point for multinational forces.
Crossover Illustration by Masami Ōbari
This special crossover illustration was drawn directly by director Masami Ōbari of Burn Bravern. It features Yukio, the mecha from Snowball Earth, and Bravern standing side by side across the boundary of their two universes, with a dramatic pose weaving together both the “robot world” and the “pilot world.” The illustration is striking and strikingly hard to find fault with.

Crossover Manga by Yūjirō Tsujitsugi
In addition to the illustration, a special crossover manga has been newly drawn by Yūjirō Tsujitsugi, the creator of Snowball Earth himself. The story depicts Bravern and pilot Isami appearing in the frozen, ice-covered world of Snowball Earth. The key shared theme between Yukio and Bravern is “a burning love that transcends the pilot’s own lifespan” — and when the two pilots, Tesuo and Isami, meet, what kind of chemistry will unfold? That is what this manga chapter sets out to explore.
This collaboration is a particularly unmissable event for mecha anime fans.
