The official website for Spice & Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf revealed a second teaser visual on Monday and announced that the anime’s second season is set to debut in 2027.

Recap of Season 1
The anime’s first season launched in April 2024 and ran for two consecutive cours. Crunchyroll streamed the series simulcast alongside its Japanese broadcast and also offered an English dub.
The series is a completely new adaptation telling the story of traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence and his fateful encounter with the wolf goddess Holo. Jun Fukuyama reprised his role as Lawrence, Ami Koshimizu returned as Holo, and Mai Nakahara came back as Norah Arendt.
Synopsis
The life of a traveling merchant is a lonely one — a fact Kraft Lawrence knows all too well. Wandering from town to town with his horse and cart, Lawrence’s routine is upended when he discovers a wolf goddess asleep in his wagon. Calling herself Holo the Wisewolf, she takes the form of a young girl with wolf ears and a tail, and proposes a deal: she will use her ancient cunning to boost his profits in exchange for passage on his travels. What Lawrence doesn’t anticipate is just how complicated life with an age-old deity can be.
About the Source Material
Isuna Hasekura launched the Spice and Wolf light novel series, illustrated by Jū Ayakura, in 2006. The series paused after its 17th volume in 2011 before resuming with the 18th volume in 2016. The 25th and latest volume is scheduled to ship on October 9. Yen Press publishes the novels and manga adaptation in North America, as well as the spinoff series Wolf & Parchment: New Theory Spice & Wolf, which Hasekura began in April 2016.
The novels previously inspired two TV anime seasons directed by Takeo Takahashi with scripts by Naruhisa Arakawa — the first airing from January to March 2008, and Spice and Wolf II from July to September 2009, both released on home video by Funimation. A virtual reality anime followed in June 2019, with a sequel arriving in December 2020.
